Answering the Call: My JouRNey Into Full-Time Ministry
On February 1, 2025, I answered the call to full-time ministryβbut this divine appointment wasnβt sudden. It was birthed through pain, healing, and Godβs relentless grace. Iβve recently discovered that ministry isnβt just a title or a platformβitβs what every believer is called to do. Itβs how we live our daily lives, in our homes, in our workplaces, and in every interaction, carrying the love and light of Christ into ordinary moments.
βBefore I formed you in the womb I knew you...β β Jeremiah 1:5
I was born into a devout Christian family, with my very first breath a miracleβsurviving a near-death birth experience. Raised in Gainesville, Texas, I was deeply rooted in the church from an early age: singing in the choir, devotions, attending Sunday school, and participating in vacation Bible school. Yet despite that foundation, life took me through valleys I never could have anticipated.
Throughout my youth and early adulthood, I endured unimaginable hardshipβmolestation, abuse, addiction, toxic relationships, spiritual confusion, and even suicide attempts. I ran, I rebelled, I hid. But even in the darkest moments, the Lordβs hand never left me.
In 2011, just after I graduated from college, my mother passed away. I spiraledβnumbing pain with partying, alcohol, and unhealthy relationships. I worked as a travel nurse, moving from city to city, running from God and myself. But nothing silenced the ache in my soul.
The turning point came in March 2022, when I attended Lakepointe Church. A sermon on sanctification pierced my heart, and I surrenderedβtruly surrenderedβfor the first time. Since that day, God has radically transformed my life.
Through prayer, discipleship, and obedience, the Holy Spirit has healed what I thought was too broken. Iβve served in small groups, womenβs ministry, outreach, and leadership. Iβve walked through job loss, betrayal, legal battles, and heartbreakβbut through it all, God proved faithful.
I am now walking boldly in my calling to minister to the broken, to proclaim the Good News, and to help others discover freedom in Christ. Nothing but the blood of Jesus explains why Iβm still here. I trust God with everything because Heβs brought me through everything.
This calling isnβt about perfectionβitβs about obedience. Itβs about saying "yes" when every worldly reason says βno.β My journey is proof that no pit is too deep, no wound too raw, and no sin too shameful for Godβs redemptive love.
I invite you to walk in love & light with me, as I follow Christ. Choose your hard. I have chosen mine. Coram Deo!
βFollow me as I follow Christ.β β 1 Corinthians 11:1

Vision:
To be a community of women fully armored in Christ, walking in His purpose, and trusting His plan for our lives. We strive to deepen our relationship with God through daily prayer, reading His Word, and worship. Together, we will embrace obedience, faith, and sacrifice, knowing that Godβs promises are ahead of us if we faithfully follow His lead.
Scripture:
"Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devilβs schemes." β Ephesians 6:11 -
Mission:
To seek Christ first in everything we do, as we walk together in faith, align our lives with Godβs purpose, and empower one another to use our strengths for His glory. Through fellowship, we will encourage spiritual growth, discern our purpose, share our ministries, and strive for obedience in all areas of our lives.
Scripture:
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you." β Matthew 6:33 -
ποΈ What Does the Bible Say About Baptism?
πΉ 1. What Is Baptism?
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward transformationβa public declaration that you have decided to follow Jesus and are identifying with His death, burial, and resurrection.
Romans 6:4 (NIV)
βWe were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.βπΉ 2. The Importance of Baptism
Jesus Himself was baptized to model obedience and humility.
Matthew 3:13-17
Jesus came to be baptized by John. After His baptism, the heavens opened and the Spirit descended like a dove, and a voice from heaven said, βThis is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.βIt is a command for believers.
Matthew 28:19-20 (The Great Commission)
βGo therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spiritβ¦βIt symbolizes cleansing from sin and new life in Christ.
Acts 22:16
βAnd now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.βπΉ 3. When Should You Be Baptized?
After believing in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Acts 2:38
βPeter replied, βRepent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.ββActs 8:36-38
βLook, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?β
Philip replied, βIf you believe with all your heart, you may.βBaptism doesnβt require perfectionβjust repentance and faith.
πΉ 4. Is Baptism Required for Salvation?
Salvation is through faith alone in Jesus Christ, not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9). But baptism is an act of obedience that reflects saving faith.
βοΈ Summary: Why Baptism Matters
It's a commanded step of obedience
Itβs a public testimony of your faith
It reflects your new life in Christ
Itβs a sign that you are dead to sin and alive in Christ
Ready to be baptized?
If you've accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, you can be baptized todayβjust like believers in the Bible were! Baptism is not about having it all together, itβs about giving God your whole heart.βWhat are you waiting for?β β Acts 22:16

The Power Planning meeting is a gathering of women with a purpose to armor up spiritually and walk together in Christ. The aim is to review our individual God-given purposes, assess our strengths and weaknesses, and align our vision with Christβs call. Through scripture, prayer, praise, and worship, we will prepare to do the work God is calling us to do, stepping out of stagnation and into His promises. This is a time for spiritual growth, encouragement, and empowerment, focusing on obedience, faith, and sacrifice as we move from the wilderness into the Promised Land.
Though Power Planning is paused for this season, the call to grow in Godβs Word never stops. I encourage you, sisters, to continue studying Scripture, drawing nearer to Christ, and applying His truth daily.
Join me on the Journey Light Podcast (Wake up Sleeper) for faith-filled conversations, spiritual challenges, and encouragement designed to help you stay anchored in the Word and strengthened in your walk with God.
π βBut grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.β β 2 Peter 3:18

π What Does the Bible Say About Communion?
Also known as the Lordβs Supper or Eucharist
πΉ 1. What Is Communion?
Communion is a sacred act of remembrance. It symbolizes Jesusβ sacrifice on the crossβHis body broken and His blood shedβfor the forgiveness of sins. It is a time for reflection, thanksgiving, and unity with Christ and other believers.
Luke 22:19-20 (NIV)
βAnd he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, βThis is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.β In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, βThis cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.ββπΉ 2. Why Is Communion Important?
It remembers Jesusβ sacrifice
1 Corinthians 11:26
βFor whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lordβs death until he comes.βItβs a command from Jesus
Matthew 26:26-28
βTake and eat; this is my body... Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant...βIt fosters unity among believers
1 Corinthians 10:16-17
βIs not the cup of thanksgiving... a participation in the blood of Christ? And is not the bread... a participation in the body of Christ?βπΉ 3. When Can You Take Communion?
Communion is for believers in Jesus Christ
If youβve repented and trusted Christ as Savior, youβre invited to the table. You can take it regularly, in corporate worship or personal devotion
Acts 2:42
βThey devoted themselves to the apostlesβ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.βπΉ 4. How Should You Prepare Your Heart?
Examine yourself before taking communion
1 Corinthians 11:28-29
βEveryone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup.βRepent of sin and come with a heart of reverence, not routine
Psalm 139:23-24
βSearch me, God, and know my heart... lead me in the way everlasting.βCome with thanksgiving for the grace that saved you!
πΉ 5. What Do the Elements Mean?
The Bread β Symbolizes Jesusβ body, broken for us
The Cup β Symbolizes Jesusβ blood, poured out for our forgiveness and the new covenant
Isaiah 53:5
βHe was pierced for our transgressions... and by His wounds we are healed.ββοΈ Communion Is...
A memorial
A covenant renewal
A proclamation of Jesusβ return
A sacred moment of intimacy with God
"Do this in remembrance of Me." β Luke 22:19

The Armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-18, consists of six key elements that symbolize the spiritual defenses God provides to protect believers from spiritual attack:
The Belt of Truth
"Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist."
This represents honesty, integrity, and the truth of Godβs Word that holds everything together.
The Breastplate of Righteousness
"With the breastplate of righteousness in place."
This symbolizes living a life of righteousness and being morally upright, which guards our hearts from the enemyβs attacks.
The Gospel of Peace (Shoes of Readiness)
"And with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace."
This refers to being prepared to proclaim the gospel and live in the peace of God, which helps us stand firm in our faith.
The Shield of Faith
"Take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one."
Faith in God protects us from the enemyβs lies, doubts, and temptations.
The Helmet of Salvation
"Take the helmet of salvation."
This symbolizes our confidence in the saving grace of Jesus Christ, protecting our minds from fear and discouragement.
The Sword of the Spirit (Word of God)
"And the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God."
The Word of God is our offensive weapon, allowing us to fight against lies, temptations, and deceptions by knowing and applying Scripture.
Bonus:
Prayer (often considered the 7th element):
"And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests."
Though not symbolized as a piece of armor, prayer is the foundation that binds everything together and empowers us in our spiritual battle.
By "putting on" these spiritual defenses daily, we are better equipped to stand strong in our faith and resist the enemyβs attacks.

1. The Doctrine of God
The Trinity: I believe in one God, eternally existing in three personsβFather, Son, and Holy Spiritβco-equal and co-eternal (Matthew 28:19).
God the Father: Sovereign, holy, and loving; He draws us to Himself and is the source of all life and purpose (Jeremiah 29:11).
God the Son (Jesus Christ): Fully God and fully man; born of a virgin, sinless life, atoning death, bodily resurrection, and soon return (John 1:1, Hebrews 4:15, Revelation 22:12).
God the Holy Spirit: Convicts, regenerates, indwells, empowers, teaches, and guides believers into truth (John 14:26, Romans 8:11).
2. The Doctrine of the Bible
I believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God. It is the final authority for faith and life (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Daily study and meditation on Scripture are essential for spiritual growth and discernment (Psalm 119:105).
3. The Doctrine of Humanity
Humans are created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) but are born into sin due to the Fall (Romans 5:12).
Every person has inherent worth and purpose, yet is in need of redemption through Jesus Christ.
4. The Doctrine of Salvation
Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8-9).
It involves repentance, justification, sanctification, and ultimately glorification (Romans 10:9-10, Romans 8:30).
The blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin, and in Him, we have true freedom and new life (1 John 1:7, 2 Corinthians 5:17).
5. The Doctrine of the Church
The Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers (Ephesians 1:22-23).
I believe in the importance of gathering in community for worship, discipleship, accountability, and service (Hebrews 10:25).
The Church is called to make disciples, baptize, and teach all that Jesus commanded (Matthew 28:18-20).
6. The Doctrine of Ministry
Every believer is called to ministryβusing their spiritual gifts to edify the Church and reach the lost (1 Peter 4:10).
My personal philosophy of ministry is rooted in love, humility, and the leading of the Holy Spirit (Galatians 5:22-25).
True leadership follows the servant-hearted example of Jesus (Mark 10:45).
7. The Doctrine of Sanctification
Sanctification is the lifelong process of becoming more like Christ through the work of the Holy Spirit (Philippians 1:6).
I believe in denying the flesh, picking up my cross daily, and walking in step with the Spirit (Luke 9:23, Galatians 5:16-25).
8. The Doctrine of the End Times
I believe in the bodily return of Jesus Christ to judge the living and the dead (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17).
Believers will be with the Lord forever, while those who reject Christ face eternal separation from God (Revelation 20:11-15).
9. The Doctrine of Prayer and Spiritual Discipline
Prayer is essential for intimacy with God and intercession for others (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
Spiritual disciplines such as fasting, meditation, worship, and Scripture study are foundational for a vibrant relationship with Christ.
10. The Doctrine of Healing and Restoration
I believe God is a healerβphysically, emotionally, and spiritually (James 5:14-16).
My own journey testifies to the restorative power of Christ in the midst of trauma, abuse, grief, and loss.

Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me (John 15:4).
Key Phrase: βRemain in me, as I also remain in you.β
Remain (or "abide" in some translations) means to dwell, stay connected, or continue in relationship.
Jesus is the vine, we are the branchesβour strength, growth, and fruitfulness come only by staying connected to Him.
This speaks of intimacy, dependency, and consistency in our walk with Christ.
We cannot produce the fruit of the Spirit (like self-control) on our own.
It is through remaining in Christβthrough prayer, the Word, and yielding to the Holy Spiritβthat we grow strong and victorious over sin.
